The Oklahoma Mustang
Club had the most entries of any club attending the 2007 Perkins Car Show. In
Honor of the Oklahoma Mustang Club, September’s Great Oklahoma Classic features one of their member’s classic
Mustang.

We found Nancy and Gordon Couch enjoying the day with several
Oklahoma Mustang Club members at the Bristow Car Show, which is held on the Saturday before Labor Day each year.
The Bristow Car Show is held on Historical US Route 66! Nancy and Gordon are sure to have many great drives down Route
66 in this Great Oklahoma Classic "66" Mustang!

The Great Oklahoma Classic for September
2008 is a 1966 Mustang Convertible, that belongs to Nancy Couch, a member of the Oklahoma Mustang Club.
| Ford 289 with three Holly carburetors |

The engine is a Ford 289
cubic inch bored 30/over with steel crank and forged pistons. It has trick flow twisted wedge, aluminum heads, 270 cam with
roller tip rockers, is equipped with a factory tri-power manifold with 3 Holly two barrel carburetors which Ford offered as
part of their Cobra Kit Package. It has a C-4 automatic transmission, power steering, power disc brakes, factory air-conditioning,
Hooker headers and Turbo mufflers.
Nancy’s husband,
Gordon purchased this car for Nancy's birthday in June of 2003. In December of
2005 Nancy and Gordon decided to turn the Mustang into a Shelby GT 350 Clone. From a great birthday present in 2003
to a great restoration in 2008, a great 66 Mustang Convertible. Gordon refers to the classic as a Restomod.
