The 2009 ZR1 is a factory
Supercharged 376 Cubic Inch SFI Chevrolet Corvette. The all new LS9 V8 delivers
638 horsepower and 634 pounds feet of torque to make the ZR1 a real beast. Chevrolet
claims a 0-60 time of 3.4 seconds, quarter mile in 11.3 seconds at 131 MPH and top speed 205 MPH. The ZR1 weighs in at 3350 pounds.

The ZR1 has carbon-fiber air dams, which are part
of a newly designed aerodynamics package that cuts lift by 29% compared to the Z06.
Openings in the air dam provide a flow of air to cool the front brakes.
The ZR1 gets Michelin Pilot Sport II 285/30ZR19 front tires and giant 335/25R20 rear tires wrapped around unique 20 spoke
wheels. Those rear tires are wider than just about any production car's and should help get those 600-plus horses to the ground.
Each ZR1 comes with Brembo ceramic drilled disc brake rotors with
15.5-in. rotors up front and 15-in. units in the rear. Clamping
down on the high-tech rotors are Brembo six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear calipers.
The ZR1 gets the flappy exhaust system from other
Corvettes. The flaps close at low speeds to keep the ZR1 very quiet, but around 3,000 RPM the flaps open and the 376 cubic inch Supercharged V8 roars to life.
Like the Z06 Corvette, the ZR1 is built on an
aluminum framework; base Corvettes use steel. The transmission is in the back of the car for better weight balance. The ZR1 comes only with a heavily modified 6 speed manual transmission with a new dual disc clutch and stronger driveshaft.
Magnetic Selective Ride Control is standard and tuned specifically for the
ZR1. The system's ability to deliver a compliant ride with nearly instantaneous damping adjustments enabled engineers to develop
a surprisingly supple ride quality in a supercar that still delivers cornering grip of more than 1g. From a high-performance perspective, Magnetic Selective Ride Control helps the rear axle remain planted
during launch for smooth, hop-free acceleration. It also helps suppress axle movement when cornering on broken or uneven pavement.
The ZR1’s interior is similar to the regular
C6. Notice the two-tone leather seats, that are heated and power-adjustable with memory, power telescope adjustment for the steering column, side airbags,
Bose stereo with 6-disc CD changer, navigation system, and Bluetooth connectivity.
The ZR1 Navigation system is part
of the $10,000 luxury package add on.
The all new 2009 Chevrolet ZR1 Corvette is sure to become an instant American Classic Supercar!
