Featured here is a 1964 Pontiac GTO belonging to Tony White.  We did this feature of Tony’s GTO while attending the 2009 Spring Pontiac Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  The Spring Pontiac Nationals is an annual Car Show and Drag Racing Event held at the Tulsa Raceway Park.  The Indian Nation Pontiac Club is the host of this wonderful event.

Tony acquired this basket case of a car back in the mid nineties. The 64 GTO was purchased new from the Ernie Miller Pontiac Dealership in Tulsa. Tony and his Dad, Warren worked on the car as a father/son project, which started in 1994.

The original Pontiac 389cubic inch V8 still sets on an engine stand in Tony’s garage and can replace the Pontiac 455, which is currently the power plant for the GTO.  The 455 Pontiac which was bored .040, has TRW pistons and produces 400 horsepower and 381 pounds feet of torque. Tony installed an Edlebrock Performer RPM intake with a 750 cfm carburetor.  Edlebrock was also selected to furnish the cam, hydraulic lifters and valve springs.

The GTO has four speed Muncie M21 close ratio transmission with a Kevlar clutch. The four-speed Muncie is shifted with linkage from Hurst.  The four-speed M21 directs the power to a 3:55 positraction twelve-bolt rear end with Moser axles.  The GTO dual exhaust system is made of 2¼-inch aluminum with Flowmaster mufflers.

For the GTO interior Tony selected “Cars” of Tulsa to design the tweed and ultra leather seat covers and door panel.  As you can see (head liner) no detail was over looked!

The Pontiac was painted RED, using E4 – 97 Ford red by “Crazybrush” of Tulsa (Randy Davis and Greg Anderson).  Ron’s Polishing of Glenpool did the great bright work and bumpers. As you can see Tony has the GTO setting on B F Goodrich T/A radial tires mounted on Cragar mag wheels.

As you can see, Tony left no part of this classic GTO to chance.  The trunk has been brought back to better than new condition.

Tony and Warren with the help of many folks in the Tulsa, Sapulpa and Glenpool areas have built and assembled a GTO that will catch anyone’s eye!  If you are looking for a great Pontiac GTO first year edition and you have $32,000 you can contact us and we will get you with Tony, this BADD GOAT is for SALE! With the recent announcement of GM shutting down the Pontiac Division this is truly a great investment car!
